BEST PRACTICES

BEST PRACTICES FORM

      I.        Rationale:

 

     In our school, Portic Integrated School, Kindergarten children learn and create their mother tongue not by sitting at their desks, doing pencil and paper tasks in isolation from their peers, or drilling structures out of context, but by interacting with and manipulating language learners. Because language is an interactive process, children learning a language need ample opportunity to interact interesting context and play with the language while developing vocabulary and structures. They need the collaboration of  their peers and teachers in creating meaningful contexts.

                                                                                                                

 

 

    II.        Brief Description of Best Practice:

 

STORYTELLING

 

     Storytelling is a unique way for kids to develop an understanding. Sharing stories help children development. Reading and sharing stories can spark the children imagination and stimulate curiosity. It also develop social and communication skills.

 

 

 

   III.        Impact:

 

   Storytelling is a wonderful technique to be used to the young learners. The stories strengthen the child’s understanding of language and improves the listening skills.

STORYTELLING

    I.          Rationale:

 

     Learning is not just  rote memorization. Kindergarten pupils won’t be able to gain any information and skills out of dull learning process but they understand the application of skills and knowledge to solve real-life problems with help of effective learning process. The knowledge and skills acquired through game-based learning are retained longer than information from other learning methods .

 

 

    II.        Brief Description of Best Practice:

 

PLAY-BASED LEARNING

 

     Play-Based Learning plays important role in teaching by making pupils to collaborative, communicate, interact and work  in teams. Playing creates a dynamic that can inspire learners to develop skills and build an emotional connection to learning and subject matter.

 

 

   III.        Impact:

     Children can learn to play a game, but can also learn new knowledge by playing a game. Play-based learning is a teaching method that allows learners to explore different parts of games as a form of learning. The actively explore their encironment and the world around them through play. By exploring ideas and language, manipulating objects ,acting out roles, or experimenting with materials such as blocks, natural items, playdough and paint-these are some of the ways children through play.

PLAY-BASED LEARNING

     Kindergarten is all about creativity in learning. Art activities are a terrific way

 for kids of all ages to express themselves creatively. Art  is the expression or application of creative skill and imagination. It is important because it encompasses all the developmental domains in child development. Art lends itself to physical development and the enhancement of fine and gross motor skills.

 

                                                                                                                

 

 

    II.        Brief Description of Best Practice:

 

ART ACTIVITY

 

     Art allows children to practice a wide range of skills that are useful not only for life, but also for learning. Skills youth practice when participating in art activities include; Fine motor skills. Grasping pencils, crayons, chalk and paint brushes helps children develop their fine motor skills. Children learn about themselves and others through art activities. It really helps them build self-esteem.

 

 

   III.        Impact:

     Children naturally love art. Through art, children can developed their perceptual skills, the awareness of colors, shapes, forms, lines and textures and it also builds fine motor skills. Arts promote creativity.
